Virtual Pride March - I joined!
Hello everyone, I should have done another post on this and well honestly the month got away from me! So better to do it now than never right?!
So I just got this in my email which reminded me that I wanted to post and hadn't done it yet and figured I would share this and do a post combo :)
I don't post enough sometimes about my beliefs and things that I stand up and will fight for but, I would like to share that I do believe that everyone is equal, everyone is human, everyone needs someone to be there for them.
For me, I don't care what color your skin is or where you were raised or who you love, that is your life and your choice and honestly, no one has the right to judge you for who you are, where you came from, the color of your skin or who you love!
I believe and will always believe that we are all equal no matter what and that it isn't up to any of us to judge. We all have the right to our own opinions but, we also have the right to think for ourselves and not give a damn what others say or think of us!
I went 40 years of my life giving a crap what others said - my mother for the most part and b/c she put me down and told me that I was nothing, told me that I would never be anything, etc I believed her and let that get to me and it made me shut up and just live life and be quiet and not fight back! I regret that I didn't wake up so to speak sooner! It took me turning 40 to wake up and realize that this is MY life and that no one has the right to tell me what I am or what I can't or won't do and accomplish! Thankfully I woke up when I did! I am so happy that I listened to my friends that have been telling me some of them for years to stand up to her, stand up for yourself stop letting her words get to you, etc.
So I want to say that I don't care how old you are its never too late to stand up for yourself! Don't let people tell you that something you believe in is wrong or stupid or whatever just b/c they don't agree. Don't let people's comments get to you. None of them matter, the only person that matters is you! The only one that needs to be happy with you is you! The only one that needs to be able to think I'm happy with the life I'm living and if others don't like it oh well is you! Don't let others control you! Don't even let them think that they can or have any effect on you at all! Stand up to them! Let them know that it is your life and you will make your own decisions and if they don't like it oh flipping well too damn bad!
What a cool way to celebrate now
