#BehindTheBlogger - When You Love Someone

When You Love Someone - that's an open ended phrase...it can go many ways and a ton of thoughts come to mind when I read it and think about it and what it means to me.

When you love someone its a great feeling inside. I still remember the feeling that I had the first time that I was in love. It was with my next door neighbor and back then (when I was in the 5th grade) he was one of my closest friends. He is the one that I shared my first kiss with :) Those were the good ole days when I didn't have a care in the world!

I also think that when you love someone sometimes you have to say goodbye to them even if you really don't want too at the time. For me, the saying goodbye part was to one of my best friends - my first true love. We had been through everything and had dated quite a few years all through high school. From the moment that I first saw him and spoke to him I had a feeling that he was a special person in my world and indeed he was and is and always will be.

I said goodbye to him as a "love" of more than a friend about 2 years or so ago. We have and always will remain the best of friends but, seeing us as anything more than that is what I said goodbye too.

When you love someone you might not understand it or even see it at one point. I didn't see it for the most of my marriage...I saw it clearly when we were forced to not talk every day and when we had to write letters as a way of communicating back and forth and also not seeing each other every day as we had for over 20 years!

When we started writing things started to come out, an opening up and a friendship blossomed. Funny how it is that I am married to someone yet we weren't "friends" through out our marriage. But as we both grew into learning about each other, then the friendship grew into a love that I have only felt once before and that was a true love (one of my best friends).

So when you love someone, you love them completely without error...you don't take into consideration the past mistakes that they've made because you love them for who they are NOW and the person that they've grown into. We have all made mistakes, we are all human. Making mistakes is part of being a human, admitting that we've made them - that is where we know that we love that person unconditionally if they know of our mistakes and we know of theirs and we've admitted to making mistakes but they still see you as the person you are today not the person you was in the past as well as you see them for who they are today then that is real love - just my thoughts. Thank you so much for taking the time to read! :)

As always, thank you for stopping in on my blog, I appreciate every one of you that stops in and reads any of my post or enters giveaways.

  1. Great post~I totally agree. You cannot love someone but hold them hostage by their past. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on love.

  2. "When you truly love someone, you don't judge them by their past. You accept it and leave it there."
With respect, I disagree with [part of] this. And the more times I read this quote, the more subtleties I see in it... I really could and might like to comment on any number of points.
As briefly as I can... First, it sounds a bit like a mandate to me-- and, like something of a moral judgment if a person does not cease to judge.
I do agree with, and embrace, the idea of acceptance-- and believe that this should ideally be the focus. However, I also believe that to judge is a natural human tendency-- for better or for worse.
Finally, there will inevitably be people we encounter who have pasts that are less-than-pristine. My best friend; My Person? I imagine that most anybody and everybody reading this would judge him as a monster or some other terrible non-human "thing," were they looking exclusively at his past. ...And myself, too. I'm not exempt.
...Just a few thoughts. I'm going to hit "Publish" without re-reading or editing, because... Well, Just a Few Thoughts.
