Medical Billing - my back up plan, do you have one?
Hello everyone, in today’s world the way that things are going you just never know what is around the corner and
with over 47 million unemployed American’s it is wise to have a backup plan
for that just in case. Or if you are like me and a workaholic and love to have
a main job and then a side one not only to help with little things like taking
vacations or unexpected expenses but also a backup.
I have been with a company that I
dearly love for over a year now. I have loved customer service, real estate, and
the medical field. I have been working out of my home office for nearly 20 years!
I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Throughout the years I have started
studying Real Estate and decided that I wanted something different and more “behind
the scenes” so to speak so I started studying Medical Coding and Billing and
then recently decided that I just wanted to do the Billing and then go to the
coding if I felt that I wasn’t doing enough with the billing.
So I did my research, a lot of it and
decided that instead of going back to college and paying literally thousands of
dollars that I would take a different approach and learn just the Billing and
do it all online but have no time crunches to get certain lessons done within a
certain timeline etc. I enjoy studying and doing things on my own and learning
at my leisure.
I have been doing this for a little
over a month now and I love it! I have gone through a few lessons on my own
trying to continue doing some every week. So far I’m doing pretty good. 2
quizzes and both of them I got an 85 on them! I know that some may think well
heck why didn’t you get 100 on them?! You are on the internet its so easy just
to look up the answers and get them all right and yeah that would be the easy
and in my eyes the cheating way to do it. I want to learn on my own and if I
start looking things up during a quiz that is just like cheating off of someone’s
paper back in school, no thanks!
If I can’t learn and get the answers
right on my own then I need to study more as easy as that!
Since I already have a business and I’m
doing things on the side in the evenings and weekends away from my full time
job I figure that this will be a great service to offer my customers/clients
when I am done with the class and get my certification which I’m hoping is by the end of this year, that’s my goal!
If you have a great job and you want
something more or maybe you just want to make sure that you have a backup plan
or maybe you are just a workaholic like me then I encourage you to do your
research and do something that you love! I encourage you to open your own
business, register a business name do things here and there little by little if
you can’t afford to do it all at once. It isn’t that expensive to get going
just figure out what you want to do and go for it-no excuses just do it!
