Remember When - #BehindTheBlogger

I am participating in a great blog hop called #BehindTheBlogger and I'm happy to be a part of it!! I think its great to be able to get to know some of the fellow bloggers out there :)

So this one is for Remember When...The first thing that came to my mind is the telephones! Do you remember when there was no cell phones and we either had to use the corded phones or the cordless phones like the one below...remember that?? I DO! :) I kinda miss them...kinda! lol...I love my cell and even though I don't have a cordless phone these days I do however have a corded business phone so I love to look at it and think " man has it really been that many years since those phones was the it thing? LOL"

Back in the days....17 years or so ago me and one of my besties ALWAYS talked on the phone all day long doing chores we was on the phone, taking care of other things we was on the phone and making dinner etc we was on the phone! LOL that's back when the kiddos were little and some of them was at school too had time to chat on the phone all day. Well my hubby Leon-King of Random :) He use to get frustrated with us doing everything on the phone and to pester us he would yank out the  cord out of the wall! That was just one of the pestering things that he did that I remember back in the day when we had cordless phones.

Something else that came to mind right after the phone was the boombox stereos that had the cd players in it. the one in the pic, that one looked nearly identical to the one that I had! I LOVED that thing!!! I had a stack of cd's (still do!) that I loved to listen too and omg back whenever the boombox had the cassette player and the cd player...yea those was the awesome kick butt ones!! I use to record a TON of songs off of the radio onto a cassette tape!! Those was the days!!

Do you remember those two things? Did you have or use one of them or both of them? Leave your thoughts and comments for me :)

  1. I remember how excited I was on my 10th birthday when I got my boom box! I had expressed to my mom how badly I wanted one! I have always been so music obsessed, and I've always loved to sing. So when I got my boom box, of course I was so ready to trade out all of my tapes for CDs, sing all the songs and put on my own little shows in front of the mirror, ha! I was quite the diva when I was younger.

  2. My gramma's phone has this SUPER LONG cord, I loved it as a little kid and a big. When she died I took it and her rotary phone. Great memories. Loved this post.

  3. We had a corded phone on the wall in our kitchen and I hated having to sit there in front of everyone while I talked to my friends or boyfriend. Even after we got a cordless phone, we weren't allowed to take it anywhere else in the house. That's why I was ecstatic when my grandmother bought me my first cell phone at age 16. I was finally able to have private conversations! lol!

    1. Oh yea, I remember those days too...having to sit there and watch what I say in case someone was to walk around the corner! Especially at grandma's house. Thank you for sharing.

  4. Ha! I remember having those looooong, spiral phone cords that would stretch WAY out, and get all tangled up. Our phone was mounted on the kitchen wall!
I have a small-ish stereo that looks kind of like the one in the photo. It has a CD player, radio, and a tape deck. I've actually been SO grateful for it over the past few months, because I lost nearly all of my mp3s during a routine iTunes update-- "to improve security" or something, of course.
