MESOTHELIOMA AWARENESS DAY!
It is my honor to help spread the word about Mesothelioma Awareness!!
With life always being so busy, if its not one thing, work, kids, the pets, emails or just daily life etc I don't find or rather take the time to learn about things like this and if it wasn't for Cameron getting a hold of me, I wouldn't of known that it even existed!
I mean I know about cancer, I lost my grandfather and my uncle to lung and prostate cancer that just spread through both of them in a matter of months and they were both gone! Years apart but still it took them from us way too soon! I know about Breast cancer, that took my uncle's mother and I know about I believe it was Lung cancer that also took my husband's mother although I believe she had a few other things that spread through her body as well. It's absolutely awful to lose a loved one to any type of cancer! But to know that there are survivors out there is such a great thing!!! And I am so very proud of Heather for taking the steps and getting the surgery and being a survivor of this cancer. She is a very courageous and strong woman in my eyes...
My thoughts, prayers and hugs go out to Heather and her family for being so strong and courageous!!
Mesothelioma Awareness Day is Saturday, September 26th
Mesothelioma Awareness Day is a day dedicated to
spreading awareness of the deadly, but preventable cancer. Mesothelioma is a rare cancer caused by exposure to asbestos fibers. Asbestos is a mineral used in many construction and consumer products. Asbestos is still not banned globally. Heather Von St. James, blogger and mesothelioma
survivor, was diagnosed with mesothelioma 9 years. She was given 15 months to live, but with the help of a
highly-invasive surgery that involved the removal of her left lung, she is
now a survivor. Heather was exposed to asbestos as a young girl by
wearing her father's work jacket. She now works to spread awareness with her husband
Cameron
