Wearing political gear at work is it appropriate?
Good morning, afternoon, or evening wherever you are. I saw this and just wanted to touch on it a moment and see what your thoughts are on this issue. So it seems that Trump has tweeted out a boycott against Goodyear Tires because they aren't allowing workers to wear political gear. Trump (of course not really a surprise) had a tantrum about it and demanded that no one buy tires from them because of not allowing them to wear MAGA things.
So this is just my opinion on this issue. I think that they are correct and that no one should be allowed to wear political gear regardless of which side. I believe that the workplace is not a place to discuss politics. There is a time and a place for things and the workplace isn't one of them to be discussing politics.
I am happy that I work out of my home office and can wear whatever I choose daily, however, if I was working at a plant or any other place I still wouldn't want to wear anything political because that can just stir up a hornet's nest in a blink of an eye!
Let me know what your thoughts are on this - is Trump right to throw a tantrum and tweet not to buy from that company because they aren't allowing MAGA stuff, not to mention they aren't allowing Biden things either so its a fair deal for both sides, not just one or the other.
Please stay safe wherever you are!
