Phraze-It!! Launching end of this month

There is a cool new game being launched at the end of this month on the 26th. It's called Phraze-It. To learn more about it, you can read about it here.

If you are wondering what is Phraze-It!? What is it like? Its a new kind of word game. It's similar to scrabble and it has a lot of word play.

The game would be a great addition to current family games.

I love family games that are for "all ages" and not just the smaller children or just the older children and this one I think covers everyone. So if you have children who are pre-teen or teenagers this would be a great game to get everyone involved in.

Princeton Husband and Wife Game Designers Launch Their Kickstarter Campaign

PRINCETON, NJ (August 2, 2013) –  A Princeton family has taken an idea they invented in their minivan and has turned into a fast, funny, and creative party game. In Phraze-It! – the Game of Crazy Phrases – players roll letter dice and the initials are turned into silly, thought provoking and altogether surprising phrases. Todd and Ruth Greenwood and their company Lots-o-Watts Games hope to raise funds through Kickstarter to print and promote Phraze-It!

Ruth Greenwood describes how they got the idea. "We had a minivan filled with four creative (but easily bored) people who made road trips fly by making up games - crazy singing games, radio games." The Greenwoods collected more than 100 of these games and developed an iPhone App called Family Car Games. Ruth says, "Family Car Games has been great – we’ve had more than 10,000 downloads to date from all around the world and nice press from bloggers, Foxnews.com  and more."

One of the Family Car Games involved calling out three letters from the license plate of a passing car. That was the start of Phraze-It!  But they realized that there was so much more they could do to make the game better. They worked for more than 2 years perfecting Phraze-It! by playing with friends and family and bringing it to Playtest Groups.  They hired an award-winning graphic designer who helped them package the game.

Now they are ready to bring Phraze-It! to the world.  "It’s a great time for board games," Todd Greenwood said. "In the old days, you tried to get a meeting with Parker Brothers or Hasbro and they would tell you to take a number or go away. Kickstarter allows us to retain the control we need and want."   The Greenwoods plan to use Kickstarter to bring Phraze-It! to the attention of gamers around the world.  They want to see the game win some awards and see it on the shelves of toy stores and Barnes & Noble.

Lots-o-Watts Games was formed in 2010 and is located in Princeton, New Jersey. The Kickstarter Campaign goes live on August 26^th.
